Drug courier in taxi escape bid
Doolan tried to flee when the taxi was pulled over
A drug courier tried to use a taxi to escape when police ambushed his £56,000 cocaine delivery, a court has heard.
David Doolan, 23, was being driven to a hand-over point in Aberdeen when he noticed two unmarked cars tailing him.
He told the driver to keep going, put a package down his trousers, and tried to escape when the taxi was stopped.
Doolan, of Liverpool, admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine last November. Sentence at the High Court in Edinburgh was deferred.
The taxi driver has heard agitated Doolan shouting into his mobile phone that he had "Pcs all over me".
Flower bed
The taxi finally stopped and he fled.
Bloodstains on a fence led to a search of a back garden and bags of cocaine were found hidden in a flower bed. DNA from blood on the packages linked them to Doolan.
Doolan also admitted attempting to defeat the ends of justice by telling the taxi not to stop, running from the police and hiding the cocaine.
He was remanded in custody.
