Female taxi driver attacked after 30-minute wait
A FEMALE taxi driver was assaulted after she had gone to pick up her boyfriend from the pub.
Hyndburn magistrates heard Andrew Lamb complained it shouldn't have taken her half-an-hour to get there.
And when she tried to get out of the car, Lisa Daffern was grabbed around the neck, dragged back and had her mobile phone snatched.
Lamb (37), of Barn Croft, Clitheroe, admitted assaulting Miss Daffern. He was remanded on bail for the preparation of reports.
Mrs Philippa White (prosecuting) was working in the early hours when she received a call from Lamb, who had been out with family, asking her to pick him up.
"She explained she was in the middle of a job and would come when she had finished and his response was she had better hurry," said Mrs White.
Miss Deborah Morgan (defending) said Lamb's behaviour was out of character and he was very remorseful. She said Lamb had lost his job and had been staying at home looking after the children while his partner was earning.
"He says he has been feeling rather paranoid about her and whether she was having an affair," said Miss Morgan. "He was at home 24-hours-a-day and she was away from home and working a lot, but he had no evidence anything was going on and he agrees this was more an issue to do with him rather than her."
