22 years i’ve been a taxi driver,i’m 45 now 46 this year,never has the job been so bad,i know i’ve moaned about this for a while now so stay with me,mortgage rates are sky high now, people are living in houses and paying over 100 pound a week, pubs are shutting down every were,they can't compete with 3 case’s of stella for 20 quid in the supermarkets, a large 42 inch tv is now only 500 quid, hoodies hang round pubs waiting for drunken easy victims, so ppl don’t really go out in sefton these days, those who do go into town and with money being a bit scarce these days it’s quite expensive to get a taxi…..also a private hire firm’s(Delta) rates are so low it’s cheaper to use them than to get the the bus………………………

I loved this job,although home life wasn’t the norm as most ppl,but it was a job,paid the bill’s,mrs worked days i worked nights,put both my daughters through collage,my eldest is going to university next term,U.C.L.A.N. (Preston,university of central Lancashire)……

Reality check,i was talking to Slim who works for delta and he said “‘i cant believe you are still doing that,you think too much about it and its only a job”

That sums it up though doesent it,it was only a job,i had a laugh,laughter doesent pay bill’s,it was a way of life but its not a religion,i’ve made some good friends on the taxi’s and will stay in touch with them forever i hope.

I dont even like long posts and i’ve gone on a bit here,i start as a part time driver for Asda,so i’m going to be diong both jobs for a while and eventually dropping the cab.
