The taxi driver who may have spoken to the driver of a silver Vauxhall Astra believed to have killed Ryan Batt, pictured, has come forward to speak to police.

The driver of the black cab is understood to have stopped at the scene of the alleged hit-and-run and asked the Astra driver if he was okay without realising 28-year-old Mr Batt was lying nearby in a front garden of a home in Shinfield Road where he died from multiple injuries.

Police had been appealing for the taxi driver to come forward since the tragic death of Mr Batt at around 5.15am on Sunday.

The taxi driver has been speaking to police but no further arrests have been made at this time.

An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident on Monday.

He has been bailed to return to Reading Police Station on Tuesday, July 22.
