SCARBOROUGH taxi drivers have donated hundreds of pounds to Woodlands School to pay for riding lessons for the children.
Youngsters from the special school, in Woodlands Drive, have been enjoying riding sessions at Snainton Riding School this term and thanks to the donation from the Nippy Taxi drivers they will be able to continue for another year.

The drivers held a "bonus ball" lottery competition and raised an impressive £600 for the school. This included a generous donation of £150 from driver Bill Kerr.

Acting headteacher Annette Fearn said: "The children have really enjoyed the riding sessions and I am absolutely delighted that they can now continue with them.

"I think the drivers appreciated how beneficial the sessions are to the children."

Youngsters aged between seven and 11 have been taking part in the weekly sessions at the riding school.

Mrs Fearn added: "Now that we will be continuing with the lessons, we hope to get more children involved."
