A Taxi driver escaped injury after his vehicle caught fire as he drove through Derby yesterday.

The man was driving along Shaftesbury Street when his car, believed to be a Peugeot, caught fire at 3.30pm.

Officers from Ascot Drive fire station extinguished the blaze.

A fire service spokesman said an electrical fault was thought to have caused the blaze, which caused extensive damage.
