A MINICAB driver from Southall will stand trial in November for the murder of a father of three.

Mohammed Habib, 40, appeared at the Old Bailey today (Monday, October 8), charged with the murder of businessman Ahmed Shah in West End Road, Southall on June 5.

Mr Shah, 56, was stabbed to death in what police have described as a targeted and frenzied attack.

The stabbing took place in broad daylight, in the road where he lived.

Officers found traces of red dust, believed to be chilli powder, on Mr Shah's face, and believe it may have been used to blind him before he was repeatedly stabbed in the upper body.

Witnesses have said they saw Mr Shah arguing with another man about money before he was murdered.

Mr Habib was remanded in custody until Friday, November 16.
