PEAK RATE TAXI FARES EXTENDED
Taxi drivers have been given the go-ahead by licensing watchdogs to extend the hours they can charge a higher tariff from 10pm until 6am, to 9pm until 7am.
But there will now be a 28-day consultation period to allow commuters to have their say, before the new rates are implemented. The decision by the licensing committee means the present tariff two rate for the first mile, of £4.15 will be extended by two hours a day.
The rate in North Lincolnshire is below that charged in Lincoln and Doncaster, but higher than the levels in Hull and Grimsby.
