Taxi loses control in High Street
A vehicle ploughed into several bollards and a lamppost on Chippenham High Street in the early hours of this morning.
The car, believed to be a taxi, knocked over four metal posts and a hanging flower basket.
Mandy Williams said her husband Bill saw the accident happen. She said: "My husband said the taxi just smashed into everything along the side of the road.
"If you think the damage to the road is bad, you should see the car. I imagine it's a complete write-off."
Council workers began clearing the street just after 9am this morning and said they didn't have any more information.
