A woman who died after being hit by a taxi in the centre of York has been named by police.

Lucie Kate Brabyn, 22, from Kilburn Road, York, was hit by a blue Renault taxi on Fawcett Street in the early hours of Sunday.

Officers from North Yorkshire Police have appealed for witnesses.

They want to speak to the driver and passengers of a white stretch limousine which stopped at the scene but left before police arrived.
