A man hunt was launched after a woman was raped on an industrial estate.
Police said the 24-year-old victim suffered a "harrowing ordeal" during the attack in Rutherglen, near Glasgow.

The woman accepted a lift from a man she had met in Charlotte Street in the East End of Glasgow at about 6.40pm on Friday.

He drove her to an industrial unit in Seath Road in Rutherglen. They both got out, walked to a secluded area where the man assaulted the woman.

Following the attack the woman made her way to Rutherglen Main Street seeking assistance. She flagged down a hackney cab and made her way home.

Detective Constable Raymond Thomson said: "This was a harrowing ordeal for the woman involved.

"I would appeal to anyone who may have seen the man and the woman enter the car in Charlotte Street or get out of the vehicle in Seath Road, which is just off Glasgow Road in Rutherglen to come forward.

"I would also ask anyone who saw the woman in Main Street in Rutherglen before she entered the taxi to get in touch."

The suspect was white, aged 30-35 years, 6ft tall, black hair, stocky build, with a local accent.

He was wearing a navy blue polo shirt with a yellow motif on the left hand side, dark trousers, black boots and a fluorescent vest top. His vehicle is described as a dark-coloured estate car.
