Taxi driver fined and banned for speeding
A TAXI driver has been banned from driving after travelling at twice the speed limit while carrying passengers.
Yousaf Ellahi, aged 23, of Ernest Street, Bolton, was caught by a police speed camera travelling 61mph in Manchester Road, Bolton. The maximum speed limit is 30mph.
Ellahi pleaded guilty to the offence but told Bolton magistrates: "I got distracted by the customers. I work as a self-employed taxi driver and have a child to support."
Ellahi was ordered to pay £350, of which £35 is court costs and was disqualified from driving for two weeks.
