Killer still in UK
POLICE hunting a mini-cab driver in connection with the murder of a father-of-three believe he is staying in bed and breakfasts around the country.
Ahmed Shah, 56, from Southall was repeatedly stabbed and left to die on the road in broad daylight on June 5.
Police want to trace Mohammed Habib, 40, in connection with the killing in West End Road, Southall, on Tuesday June 5 and although there has been no trace of him - Detective Chief Inspector Peter Landsdown believes Habib is still in the country.
DCI Lansdown, in charge of the murder investigation, told the Ealing Times: "Habib travels extensively in the UK and does odd jobs all over the country as a mini-cab driver. He had connections in west London and we've been told he often visited mosques in the area."
Habib, described as 5ft 4in to 5ft 6in tall, of slim athletic build, with brown eyes, black hair and a prominent beard, claims to be an Afghan, but police believe he could be Pakistani.
Victim, Ahmed Shah, 56, from Southall had red chilli powder thrown in his eyes before being repeatedly stabbed. The attacker fled down a side alley and south along Townsend Road.
