Tiger fun for kids on cab trip
LITTLE Jack Monaghan, 4, made friends with a tiger as hundreds of kids left Glasgow today to enjoy a day at the seaside - thanks to the city's big-hearted cabbies.
After the early downpour, the skies brightened as around 250 black cabs left the city to take the youngsters on a fun-packed day out to Troon.
The Glasgow Taxis Outing Fund has been operating since 1945 and for many of the children it's the highlight of their year.
Around 600 special needs and under-privileged youngsters were making the trip to the Ayrshire coast.
advertisementIt's being sponsored for the ninth successive year by the Celtic Charity Fund and club legend Danny McGrain waved the youngsters off.
Danny, who played in the 1970s and 80s, was joined by club mascot Hoopy the Huddle Hound.
The club donated £7000 to make it a day to remember.
