DRIVERS who park in the town centre taxi rank could find a £30 fine notice landing on their doormats.

Sgt Sara Goodman said police were taking action after complaints from taxi drivers that drivers were parking illegally on the rank in Abbey Road, opposite the post office.

"We wamt people to be aware that we're keeping an eye on it," she said. "Even if they see no police officers around, there may be photographic evidence."

She said offenders would get a £30 fixed penalty notice.
