Smoking law hits taxi licences
THE looming ban on smoking in enclosed public spaces is set to force a change in Wrexham's taxi licences.
At the moment, a condition of licences handed out by the council is that drivers do not eat, drink or smoke while carrying fare-paying passengers in their vehicle.
Under the new law, which comes into force on Monday, April 2, it will become an offence to smoke or permit smoking inside a taxi, whether passengers are in it or not.
But one taxi firm is bringing in the law a week early.
Our video team went to speak to Regal Taxis in Wrexham and asked them why they are being so supportive of the ban.
