AN angry taxi driver has called on Pendle Council to take action to end months of roadworks misery for residents in the Hibson Road area of Nelson.
The works, being undertaken by gas company Transco, have resulted in temporary signals and long queues at busy times.

But Mr Mohammed Akram, from Pendle Taxi Drivers' Association, told members of Pendle Council workmen were not on site all the time and called on the council to demand that teams worked round the clock to get the job finished.

Councillors promised that the matter would be looked into.
