SOCCER bad boy Joey Barton faces a police probe into an alleged fracas with a taxi driver, it was revealed last night.

The Manchester City midfielder, recently capped by England, is said to have been involved in a row in the early hours of yesterday.

The driver complained to Merseyside cops who launched an investigation into an alleged assault and damage to the taxi.

The incident is reported to have happened in Liverpool’s Wavertree area.

A police spokesman said: “There has been an alleged incident which includes damage and a possible assault. We are interviewing witnesses and taking statements. No one has been arrested.”

A Man City spokesman said the club had no knowledge of any incident involving Barton.

The 24-year-old ace hit trouble recently after cops saw him gesture to rival Portsmouth fans.

He was also fined by the FA for dropping his shorts and baring his backside at Everton.

And he was fined four weeks’ wages for stubbing a cigar into the eye of a team-mate and eight weeks’ more for a bar- room brawl in Thailand.
